Being on the cover of Status: My "Status" is to fuse the yoga and weight training world. To represent Power, Beauty and Balance. Being a cover model for Status magazine is another dream, I hope to achieve. At the age of 25, I feel I have accomplished so much while building my career as a personal trainer and yoga teacher and I would love to share it with the world. I discovered yoga during my rehabilitation of a herniated disk caused by years of participation in competitive sports. And so, my mission in life is to use my training to help others maximize the quality of their lives through exercise, nutrition and positive mindset. By using my celebrity status, I can bring about a powerful and positive change globally and bridge the gaps between yoga and weight training, inspiring people to understand the importance of both for optimal health and well being.

My philosphy on life is, make it what you want it to be and "be the change you want to see" (Ghandi). Work hard to be the best you can, and you will be a more fulfilled individual and have more insight to help the people around you. Life is too short so I try to find enjoyement and the positivity in all my experiences. I truly believe that if you always strive to grow as a person, and are constantly seeking to be better, you will find all our answers and help make this world a better place. You can only help others as much as you can help yourself.
Nutrition / Supplements: Those who are close to me know that I am a tyrant when it come to eating. I am very specific when it comes to my eating schedule otherwise, my energy levels become extremely low. Teaching and training clients 6-days a week, and being out of the house usually from 9am - 9pm at night, a girl has got to eat regularly! My meals consist of eating six to seven small meals per day, limiting out the heavy carbs, such as breads and pastas and consuming more brown rice, veggies, and protein with every main meals. Some of my favourites conisist of chicken breast, lean beef, eggs whites and no-fat cottage cheese. Additionally I take in my supplements of Iso-Flex Protein powder post workouts, muli-vitamins, omega-3 fish oils, calcium magnesim pills , and a vitamin -C and D pill before my 3 main meals. My snack: square of dark chocolate with almonds daily after my dinner and I also use chocolate/peanut flavour protein powder.
Training: As I am in the running for Miss Universe Canada 2010 in June, it is important for me to maintain a lean but strong frame. My training regiment consists of the following: 4-day split workouts (working two muscles groups four days a week), running on the treadmill for 30 minutes 4 days/week; 1 hr power yoga daily and stretch sessions onece or twice a day; one day of rest.. Sleep seven hours a day. Oh how I love my sleep!
What separates Status from any other fitness magazine: Status Magazine, to me represents a powerful, strong, yet welcoming vibe. I feel it fits where I am right now in my stage of life and career path. Some people may get intimidated by the magazine but those who are ready for the push to be better in their physical health and mindset are drawn to it.
Although a trainer, I have held off pushing myself as a representative in the bodybuilding world because I also am a yoga teacher. There seems to be a negative association between the two. I am complimented daily on my body and so I want to share with the world that a woman can train hard like a tyrant and still look graceful and elegant like a woman. The power of beauty and strength. Although I have been featured in magazines, such as Fame, Glow, and Revive, I would be honoured have my first cover model opportunity with Status.
