ENJOY YOUR VACATION WHILE STAYING ON TRACK!

Do you want to lose all the hard work you have put in for one week away? Absolutely not! The first thing I did was plan. I packed some meals and snacks to take with me for my day of travel. Trying to avoid the airport food was a step in the right direction. Although I also planned on enjoying some good food and drinks, the key is enjoying them in moderation.

Here are a few tips to help you get through it:

  • Eat Breakfast:
Start the day off right by eating a good breakfast packed with protein and fibre. I try to keep this meal filling and simple, so I usually order eggs and oatmeal for breakfast. I try and save calories for later in the day.
  • Drink Water:
Although the urge may be to hit the bar, especially if you are at an all-inclusive, make sure to drink water throughout the day and in between those alcoholic beverages.
  • Enjoy in Moderation:
Eat real food as much as you can, and don’t rely on a liquid diet. Choose meals that are filling and satisfying. Don’t worry about counting calories or weighing your food, but be mindful of your choices.
  • Get Moving:
Bring some bands from home. If the hotel doesn’t have a gym, you can use the ones for a quick workout. Get moving outside and walk everywhere. Plan on doing excursions like hiking, biking, or swimming.
  • Avoid Sugary Drinks:
Those fruity drinks can look amazing, but are full of sugar. Opt for vodka soda, wine, light beer, or tequila with lime and make sure to drink plenty of water in between.
  • Enjoy Your Vacation!
This is the most important thing! Don’t be hard on yourself if you mess up. We don’t go on
vacation every day, so you have to enjoy it!
